What is an Erasmus + KA 201 project?

ERASMUS + projects promote working partnerships between teams from different countries.

CREENA, (Center for Specific Education Resources of Navarra), the Inclusion Bureau of the Department of Education of Navarra and school groups of Italy (Instituto Comprensivo 1 de Modena) and Portugal (Group of Escolas de Vilela) will collaborate to carry out a KA201 of Educational Innovation that involves the creation of intellectual products.

These intellectual products will be specified in the elaboration of a teaching guide and a MOOC, which help teachers to initiate and develop global transformations in educational centers. Transformations that seek a correct educational inclusion for the Attention to Diversity of all students.

It is the first time that Navarra has been granted a project in this category in the modality of School Education.

Why do we do this project?

The  four partner teams have started a tour until September 2021, which will take us, during three school years, to learn about different national and international educational experiences, different environments and countries, new people with whom the illusion for inclusive education joins us, innovative projects and many more things that we will surely discover. This project will move us from our daily environment to a work and vital experience that will culminate, we hope, in a global transformation of our educational centers, towards inclusive learning environments in the broad sense of the word.

We started this project because we understand Inclusion as the sum of three requirements that must be met in the centers: defined as “Inclusive educational centers”

1. PRESENCE: If someone is not in the classroom, the interactions and situations that occur in the group are lost.

2. PARTICIPATION: Participation and equal dialogue + proposals in which all students can participate according to their abilities and skills.

And in the broadest sense, centers that promote family and environment participation.

3. LEARNING: Possibility of achieving the same results (does not mean the same note). A step beyond offering the same opportunities, since people present different needs according to their vital and personal situation.

Our goal is an educational transformation in schools and institutes that entails structural and organizational changes (spaces, schedules, materials, etc.) but above all, and as an indispensable condition, a change of look, going from obsession with the contents of the areas as a primary focus, to put people at the center of learning.

Purposes of education. Learning environments and society

The aims of education are and should be to ensure that all girls and boys who are compulsory in school, obtain in return benefits that allow them to fully integrate into society, with the ability to participate actively, make decisions freely and not be manipulable .

Learning can take place in regulated environments or not, there is learning both outside and inside schools and institutes. However, education is planned. It is a reflection of society and therefore according to what social and cultural model is handled, so education will be organized.

The partner teams live in democratic countries. If a society is defined as democratic, it must guarantee that decisions are made freely since if there is no knowledge about some issues and also, it is not known how to distinguish between what is true or what is a lie, the decisions taken will not be free and therefore society will not be democratic. In this project, promoting equal education in educational centers will be a fundamental piece. All voices will be heard, analyzed and taken into account for the elaboration of intellectual products.

We are moved by social equity and the people who make up the teams are convinced that with this project, we contribute our grains of sand to try to achieve it. Therefore, the four partner teams started this project with enthusiasm, conviction and based on international research and recommendations from organizations such as UNESCO, the UN and the OECD.
